VERISCO Shield Integrate

WordPress

Gateway modeConnector mode

A plugin that signs your WordPress users in from the identity VERISCO verified, with no theme changes and no code.

How it works#

VERISCO sits in front of your WordPress site, in gateway or connector mode. The plugin reads the verisco_session cookie on each request, verifies its RS256 signature with your tenant's public key, and signs the matching WordPress user in.

Install#

  1. Download the plugin

From your integration page in the console.

  2. Upload and activate it

In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip, and activate it.

  3. Enter your tenant ID

Go to Settings → VERISCO Security, enter your tenant ID, and save.

What it does#

Sign-in Verifies the VERISCO session and signs the user in. No theme edits.
New users Optionally creates a WordPress user the first time someone signs in.
Roles Maps the roles in the signed identity to WordPress roles, so your administrators stay administrators.
Public key Fetched from VERISCO and cached, refreshed hourly.

Requirements#

  • WordPress 5.8 or later, PHP 7.4 or later.
  • Gateway or connector mode. The plugin relies on VERISCO sitting in front of WordPress, so it is not available in SDK mode.
