VERISCO Shield Onboard
Onboarding
The seven steps of the onboarding form, what each one asks for, and what happens between submitting it and your first sign-in.
Before you start#
Have these ready. They are what the form cannot guess:
- the public hostname of your application, and where it listens;
- a database user with read access to your users table, or bind credentials for your directory;
- the names of the columns that hold the username, the password hash, and optionally the email and the role;
- a decision on how VERISCO should reach you: see Deployment modes.
The form#
| Step | What you provide |
|---|---|
| 1. Your details | Your company and a contact. |
| 2. Plan | The plan you want. Nothing is charged on this form. |
| 3. Your app | How VERISCO reaches your application: gateway, connector or SDK, and the address that goes with it. |
| 4. Identity source | MySQL or LDAP / Active Directory. |
| 5. Connect | The connection details and the column or attribute mapping. You test the connection here. |
| 6. Protection | Multi-factor methods, captcha, and your starting device and network policy. |
| 7. Review | Everything you entered, to confirm before submitting. |
The connection test is required
You cannot submit until Test connection has reached your database or directory and read a user. This is the one thing that cannot be fixed after the fact without you: if VERISCO cannot reach your directory, nobody can sign in.
Everything you choose in step 6 can be changed later in your console. Nothing in the form is final except your tenant's identifier.
After you submit#
-
Draft
Your console shows a status page while a VERISCO administrator reviews the submission.
-
Approved
The administrator accepts the tenant. Unless your account is set up as payment before activation, a free 30-day Pilot with every feature starts now.
-
Published
Publishing does the work:
- creates your isolated sign-in realm;
- connects it to your MySQL database or LDAP directory;
- applies your multi-factor, password, lockout and session settings;
- generates your tenant's RS256 signing key pair;
- registers your route, in gateway and connector mode;
- prepares your integration guide.
-
Integrate and go live
Your hostname is in pass-through until you say otherwise. Follow the Quickstart from step 4.
If your account pays before activation#
Some accounts have no free trial: the tenant goes live once its first invoice is paid. Your console says "Your tenant is approved and waiting for its first payment", and Plan & billing offers to pay for the plan you chose. See Plans and billing.
Changing what you entered#
| To change | Where |
|---|---|
| Database or directory connection | Identity Source in the console. Owner only. |
| Factors and captcha | Auth Factors. |
| Device and network policy | Device Policy, Network Policy. |
| Deployment mode | Ask us. See Changing mode. |
